Matomo On-Prem: Structure, Compliance and Support

Axis Communications relies on Matomo on-premise for analytics in environments where GA4 or other third-party tools are not suitable. With several teams involved, there was a need for more structure and alignment around how the solution was used and implemented. Ctrl Digital supports Axis by organizing the setup, documenting the approach and offering ongoing guidance.

With the solution running on-premise, Ctrl Digital acts as a link between analytics users and the IT teams responsible for servers, databases and infrastructure. A central point of contact has been established, making collaboration more efficient and strengthening both governance and trust.

This structure enables Axis Communications to filter out test data and internal traffic, while keeping data collection unified and consistent. At the same time, reporting can still be separated by domain, giving analysts access to well-structured tables that are ready to use.

It also optimizes reporting performance by preparing the data in BigQuery, ensuring that analysts work with datasets that are already organized and efficient to handle. Beyond that, the setup lays the groundwork for combining analytics and marketing data with other business data, creating a scalable and reliable foundation for insights and decision-making.
